Blazing

Willow and Frio
Although the CR-V thermometer read 78F when we left home for our morning hike today it felt hotter than blazes when we were out there.  The only respite came after we had taken a break for water in a shady area of Second Arroyo when a slight breeze picked up on our inbound leg.

While we were headed north on the outbound leg--just before entering the arroyo--we saw Pamela and Terry heading south a short distance away.  We were able to exchange morning greetings.

We didn't see anybody else out there on this late June day in our section of northern Chihuahuan Desert where we're set to break the century mark once again this afternoon--102F.
