Feeling Toasty

First 3:  in new arroyo
It was really hot on our morning hike today, and it felt a little monsoony; didn't check the humidity before we left so it may have been my imagination.

Just as we were about to strike across the upper flatland road to LDR-A I saw the SUV of the newcomers--man and woman we've encountered once too often in our section of desert--pulling up on the eastern section of the road.  We decided to head down LDR, hoping they'd outpace us down to Tellbrook Arroyo.  They did.

To ensure no encounter when they headed back on LDR we bushwhacked over to the new arroyo and trekked through a series of arroyos west of the road until we intersected with it; by then the newcomers had already retraced their steps and were beyond the point where we emerged just west of Second Arroyo, where we entered, took a rest stop and drank water before turning around.
