Cool Overcast

Ladder-backed Woodpecker on our trellis
Willow, Frio and I trekked up to First Arroyo on a very cool morning; it was cool due to a heavy overcast.  At times, though, the sun broke through, providing interesting lighting conditions for photography.

We saw no ground-dwelling critters in the desert while we were out there, though both Heelers were straining at their leads to get at a bush in First Arroyo; never did see what they were after.

Except for pulling quite strongly at times during our return to the upper flatland, both dogs were fairly well behaved in the Chihuahuan Desert today.
