Yesterday's Rain

Last night's sunset
The rainfall yesterday served to clear the air significantly, making for some very interesting light in the northern Chihuahuan Desert this morning.  Becca and I did a long hike out of the Sunset Parking area on the west side of Tortugas Mountain.  We hiked along the mountain's western flank, then south before circling back.  We ran into Greg not far from the car.  He insists on calling Becca "Berta," so I don't bother correcting him.  He has it in his mind that she's named after the housekeeper in "Two and a Half Men."  :)

Of course, the sunset image is gorgeous. I also very much liked the composition of the "Van Gough" image, with the nice sweep of the central landscape mirrored in the clouds above, and the final, abrupt, angular punctuation mark of the yucca. Well done, Packrat!
