Friday Free-for-All

This way out of a deep arroyo
No sooner had Becca and I crossed the road leading to the mountaintop than the runners started appearing behind us.  First we had to step aside for two guys separated by about twenty yards.  Then a young woman.  Then another young woman.  Then another young man and young woman.  By the time the next young woman--whose arms and legs were heavily tatooed--caught us we were on the high foothills trail.  She stopped, trying to see which way the other runners had gone.  I volunteered that I thought they had run straight ahead since that was the shortest way to the trail around the mountain, and if they had run down the trail leading to the lower desert she'd be able to see them from where she stood.  She continued straight ahead.  I don't know why there were so many runners out today, but we didn't see any others because we took the trail to the west off the mountain.

Decisions, decisions

On the horizon the Potrillo Mountains

Single-track into the low desert

What causes a cloud to go all fuzzy like this?

Fuzzy sea lion?

Golf ball on a tee?

No

I never like to photograph people without permission, Scott, unless they're heading away from us and can't be ID'd.:)

It's turned out to be a very hot day again; I'm glad you and Becca (and the runners) escaped the worst of the heat.
