Hot Hike to Second Arroyo

Desert Spiny Lizard (Sceloporus magister)
One thing I kept saying to Willow and Frio as we made our way down LDR-A, crossed the Tellbrook Arroyo and started up LDR:  "Damn, it's hot!"  Even though they didn't respond I could see they felt the same way.

Since Pamela and Terry's SUV was parked in the upper flatland I kept expecting to see them as we trekked up the dirt road toward Second Arroyo; we never spotted them.  We saw no one else, either.  Most sensible people remain indoors on such a scorching morning as this.

After we spent a long while sheltering in the shadows cast by desert foliage, and hydrating on the water I always bring along, we made our way out to LDR for the long hot slog back to the upper flatland.
