Arrogant Bastard

Early start up the mountain trail
The title doesn't refer to me nor to some jerk we met in the desert this morning, but rather to the bourbon-barrel-aged ale I bought to consume over the next three days:  Arrogant Bastard (8.1% ABV) is the name of the brew.  Quite good, too.  Nothing like a powerful ale to wet one's whistle after a long morning hike in the Chihuahuan Desert.  Of course, I'll be drinking it at night. Becca has to stick with agua, though, good old H2O:  0.0% ABV.

I'd bet that a Javelina was munching this Prickly Pear pad

Two Cactus Wrens

Hey--where'd the other one go?

Cactus Wrens make quite a racket

As the weather warms up we'll hear more birdsong. I can't wait.
