| Heading out from the Monte Vista parking area |
It was just below freezing when Dr. K, Becca and I set out for the far side of Tortugas Mountain this morning. On the near side a humongous throng had gathered for a Superbowl Fun Run, and it was a little dicey driving through that area. We made it, though, and did a semi-long hike out of the Monte Vista area, and we only ran into one other hiker on the way back. The only downside to a wonderful, sunny trek was, again, the darned wind, which just hasn't abated very much over the past week. Nevertheless, it was a fun outing for all.

It's always fun to bushwhack, especially if it gets you out of the wind.
