1st Hike 2020

A favorite sandy spot west of Tortugas Mountain
Dr. K and I (me still slightly under the weather and her just newly under the weather) took a very short hike (less than an hour) this morning simply to get outside on a sunny day in our section of the northern Chihuahuan Desert.  The sun felt good, but it was lessened in effect by the cold breeze that came and went during our trek.

There were quite a few other outdoor enthusiasts on and about the mountain on this first day of the new year, and we had a few encounters just as we started out.  But then we bushwhacked over to the edge of the outback and didn't bump into anyone else.  It felt pretty good to get outdoors today, but I can tell my stamina is still not back to normal.

That's an amazing stand of yucca, and I'm sure some critters have had their homes there.
